Sports & Social Club

Where neighbours become friends

Welcome to the Social Club

The Longdown Sports & Social Club has been at the heart of village life for over 30 years, bringing neighbours together for friendship, fun, and community spirit.

Whether you’re interested in competitive skittles, social events, or simply meeting your neighbours over a drink, the Social Club offers a warm welcome to residents of all ages.

Everyone Welcome

The Social Club is open to all village residents. You don’t need to be a skittles expert or a social butterfly – just bring yourself and a friendly smile. New members are always welcome!

What We Offer

Skittle League

Our skittle alley in the village hall hosts regular league matches and friendly games. Whether you’re an experienced player or have never thrown a ball before, you’ll find a welcoming team atmosphere.

  • League Nights: Regular competitive matches
  • Practice Sessions: Improve your game with fellow members
  • All Abilities Welcome: From beginners to experienced players

Social Events

Throughout the year, the club organises events that bring the community together:

  • Seasonal Celebrations: Christmas parties, summer barbecues, harvest suppers
  • Quiz Nights: Test your knowledge with friends and neighbours
  • Live Music and Entertainment: Local talent and visiting performers
  • Community Gatherings: Regular social evenings in the village hall

Community Hub

More than just activities, the Social Club is where friendships are forged and community bonds are strengthened. It’s where newcomers find their feet in the village and where long-time residents catch up with friends.

Get Involved

The Social Club thrives because members volunteer their time and energy. Whether it’s helping to organise an event, serving behind the bar, or simply turning up and being part of the community, every contribution is valued.

If you’d like to get more involved in running the club or have ideas for events, we’d love to hear from you!
